Outside Rosebud Patio action. I sorta look pissed but none the less I like this picture- thanks photographer!
Today's been a good day work wise. I crammed in 2.25 hours working for Cap. Hill client- data entry, wooooo! two and a half hours is enough- I couldn't imagine doing it all day
A new prospective client emailed me (through CL & Biznik) hoping I could be "her wife" so to speak, and take on the menial tasks that clog up her every day. That's what I do. Good start; although I'm not sure about the "wife" thing. Seems a bit stereotypical. Prospective client is a lawyer who owns two businesses and has one daughter. She volunteers for the Mercer Island Arts Council where I volunteered back in 2003 and she has also used my nanny broker on a few occasions in the past. We're both excited about the parallel details and I hope this will put me in her fore most thoughts when considering who to hire. I have also been in contact with another PA who's searching for her replacement assisting a busy real estate professional at the end of August. So far, it's about 30 hours a week with what sounds like a very flexible schedule: "if you're a student, there will be time during the work day to get studies done". In this case, I was found through my Biznik profile and then again, a week later- she found me through my PA job wanted CL post- it was exciting to see that what I offer is really what she's looking for. Interview Tuesday at noon in Clyde Hill- yeah, the jobs is across 520- *pissed* (update: I haven't heard from this client since emailing her back- follow up after Tuesday 8.5.8)
PT work is exactly what I'm looking for- I have no intention on leaving my current Capitol Hill client, nor do I want one full time job unless the bennies and $$ are ridiculous.
On Tuesday I visited the Goodwil before heading to Pike Place to make my weekly "buy from the local farmers" produce run. Not every stand has completely WA grown produce (citrus, nectarines, etc.) which I have to keep in mind and some of the best prices I've found are from produce brought in from Hawaii. Go figure. A bunch of basil at this particular stand is a $1 (which is a dollar less than most places) but I sorta feel bad buying it from them.
At Goodwil I purchased two new mirrors for a staggering $2.00 and a picture frame (for .75 cents) that

will be used to frame one of my
soon-to-be finished art pieces.
Speaking of art- I've finally finished one piece (at right, shown unfinished) and I'm so happy with myself for finally finishing a piece. Next step, photograph it, reproduce it and get it framed.
Admittedly, I'm still staring at the finished product and scrutinizing it, but I'm at the point that if it were framed behind glass tomorrow, I would be happy to show it off. YAY! Go Team!
Tonight I'm having dinner with Mira at
Cafe Flora. Too long ago to remember I ventured into the Madison Park vegetarian eatery hoping upon hope for good food- I honestly can't remember if I liked what I ordered or not, so I'm excited to go again. I was hoping for a light meal- I'm thinking I'll get it without any carnivore action.
Ugh, have to run. Traffic on the Montlake cut is ridiculous!
