I spent some time thinning out my herbs today. My mint plant grows like a weed and spreads rapidly. A mint root ball can take over a garden in a year so cutting back and keeping them under control is important.
To cultivate new plants hydroponically I strip leaves below healthy top shoots and submerged each stem in water. That's really all there is to it. Some plants don't take to water rooting but I haven't met any of those plants.
The only thing left to do is move the glass to a sunny location and forget about it. A couple weeks later you'll have new white baby roots happily growing in the water, easily transplanted to soil if desired.
I also took cuttings of oregano and fat leaves off my sweet basil plant. Basil and oregano apparently reduce anxiety levels when consumed or inhaled.
Harvesting is of particular importance rig

ht now as it's getting cold at night and I want to have many bunches to dry before Fall sets in.
